Glenbuchat Heritage

Cressida Potter

The Reids were at Baltimore for many years and my own great, great, great grandfather James Reid was born there in 1757 to William Reid and Anna William, before moving to Rinmore in Glenkindie. I know that after William and Anna died it was farmed by their son Peter Reid, his son Adam Reid (1801-1886) also lived there although he did not farm, he was a merchant, clothier and grocer and his 5th child with his 2nd wife Mary Chree - another Adam Reid (1859-1933) emigratead to the States in 1884 and it was this Adam who was the father of the pioneering woman doctor - Dr Ada Chree Reid, details of whom are also on my site under the 'Reid' page-
