Hay Family Craighead

Ken Cruickshank has again kindly provided some photographs relating to the Hay family of Craighead Belnacraig

Picture 1.
Local knowledge stated that this was a photo of Lucy Rose, dressed as a flower girl and taken in the walled garden of Auchernach House, Glen Nochty c 1905.

Her father, G. F. Rose, was laird of Auchernach Estate and had other properties in N.E. Scotland. Her nanny at the time was Mary Ann Cruickshank 1878 - 1946, before she married about 1907 George Hay of Easterbuchat (subsequently famer in Craighead Glenbuchat - see entry 116 and entry 1153) .

George and Mary Hay's first grandchild (daughter of Mary Ann (Leah) and Jock Davidson ( see entry 117) was named after Lucy Rose. I note from a biography of G. F. Rose on this site, that he had no children - ( see entry 385).
Perhaps the information given to me in the early1980's was mistaken. Can anyone enlighten us on this?

Picture 2.
George and his sister Leah at Craighead Farm, dressed for a wedding reception about the mid 1930's.

Picture 3
Mary Hay in her later years with her son George at Craighead Farm (The Crag) about the mid 1940's .
