The Picture above, courtesy of Kym Hardie, is of one of the treasures of Castle Newe, home of the Forbes family, before its demolition in 1927. The photo was taken when the dress was on display in the ‘Clubbie’ Rooms at Bellabeg.

It is thought that the dress may have been owned by Lady Emma Teodora Forbes nee Maxwell (1868–1953) wife of Sir Charles Forbes the 5th Baronet, the last Lady Forbes to live in Castle Newe.
