Alexander Murdoch (1815-1892)

Above is a photograph of Alexander Murdoch (1815 – 1892) a well-known violin maker who lived for a while at Crofts Glenbuchat.

The picture was donated by Mrs Anna McIntyre who is a relative of Alexander Murdoch. She was visiting Glenbuchat with her daughter Mhairi, and they visited crofts one time home of Alexander.

She wrote: “I have found this picture of him which was originally in my mother’s possession. Grandpa Murdoch is written on the back.”
