A very early record of my family BENTON is of a George B tenant of Tombreck in Glenbuchat who in
1896 paid 12 shillings Poll Tax, and in 1687 petitioned the Session (of the Presbyterian Kirk)concerning his wages as Officer to the Session, a matter which had to be referred to the Laird of Glenguchat. Later Bentons lived in Kirkton, Millhill, Kirkton of Glenbucket and Belnaklack farms. Looking for more details before and after that time. Bentons proliferated in Alford, Keig and Tullynessie after moving from Glenbuchat about 1750. The BENTONs amy have somehow been involved with Charles II arrival in Aberdeen.
Anne Farquharson is my 1st cousin 2x removed and her mother Margaret Murdoch is my great grand aunt.
Anne is the mother of Isabella Addison whose photo appears on this site.
