The above story about a the WRI based at Lumsden is written by Jessie Ritchie nee Henderson. It is possibly written about the 1930s, possibly for a WRI meeting. I am grateful to Fiona Haggart for supplying the copy of the essay.

Jessie Ritchie nee Henderson was born and brought up in Belnaboth Glenbuchat.
At the time of writing the essay she was living at Govals Cottage just outside Lumsden. It is interesting to note that in this essay Jessie uses the Doric while in previous essays she uses standard English.

Similar WRI meeting were held regularly in most communities. including Glenbuchat
