In Autumn 2024 the Hall held a celebration of the 125th anniversary of the opening of the hall

The Hall opened on Sept 23rd 1899 with a Grand Bazaar and Ball as noted in the following news Paper cutting:

In 2024, 125 years later there was an attempt to capture a little of the event.

The afternoon started with a heritage photo display in the Hall anteroom accompanied by appropriate ‘Phonograph’ music. Then there was a welcome to the visitors followed by a talk on the history of the hall by myself dressed for the part in top hat and frock coat.

There was then a cutting of the cake and the serving of refreshments.

Following tea there was a musical interlude with ‘Rivers and Glens’ music group followed by songs from the ‘Don Chorus’.

There was raffle draw and some final remarks before the original banquet was replaced by a Pizza van in the car park.

It was a successful and enjoyable event.
