14 Geology of Auchernach 1

The Following Pages show a book on the Geology of Auchernach.

It was commissioned in 1930 by G.F. Rose the Laird of the Auchernach Estate and it demonstrates his scientific interest in the land.

The book was bought by Professor Mark Blaxter who owns jean’s Cottage at Badenyon Glenbuchat.

Professor Blaxter writes:

“My story with the book is that I found it in the late lamented Dufftown second-hand bookshop in the early 1990's, and paid a very paltry sum for it. It was wonderfully damp and had that fine "old second-hand musty" smell.”

The pictures above are of the front of the book and the inscription signed by G.F Rose in 1930
