Bettines mother was Helen Moncreiffe, daughter of Sir Thomas Moncreiffe of that Ilk, 7th Bt. Sir Robert was her brother and therefore Bettine's uncle. The other person to note is Alastair Graham who was Evelyn Waugh's companion when he visited newe in 1926

Note that Bettine records that Moncrieffe House burned down in 1957.
