William Glennie, Carpenter died at Aberdeen 19.08.1922 was born William Paterson on 24.10.1859. He was an illegitimate child his mother being Jane Paterson born 03.11.1835 and his father was Alexander Glennie born 23.12.1833. Alexander Glennie emigrated to New Zealand in 1859 and died at Invercargill aged 83 years on 08.12.1916. He is interred in the Eastern Cemetery, Invercargill.

By the time of the 1881 Census William Paterson had changed his surname to Glennie and in the 1901 Census was living with his aunt Mary Jane Kellas and her husband James Kellas at Cottown Farm, Strathdon.

Alexander Glennie was my great uncle.
